Hailing from an older Syrah planting at Hyde vineyard, this Syrah Noir block is situated on a gentle hillside in the windy Carneros AVA. Picked within the first few days October, the 2019 does a terrific job of showing the typicity of the site which is hallmarked by higher-toned fruit with balanced acidity and tannins. Enjoying 80% whole cluster fermentation, the wine displays aromas of violets and blackberry with savory notes –characteristics we love in Syrah. Flavors of dark fruit with layers of complexity combined with the naturally higher acid of the site produce a very alluring wine.
