Located on Vineyard Drive in the Paso Robles - Willow Creek AVA, about 2.5 miles west of 46w on Vineyard Drive. This is the Ledge Estate Vineyard. In 2003 Mark returned to the ranch and soon after planted the first block of what would become the Ledge Estate, a flat, 40 acre property at 1230’ elevation on the west side of the Willow Creek District, composed of sandy loam, rolled sandstones and clay. He collected thousands of Estrella Syrah cuttings from the Bone Rock terraces at James Berry Vineyard and with the help of several college friends, planted 4 acres in the spring of 2005. Included in these cuttings were a small amount of Alban clone Grenache and Mourvedre. Most significantly, he began to work as Justin’s assistant at Saxum and James Berry Vineyard, learning the ways of the vineyard and of the winery.
