Home to 2015’s Winemaker of the Year & 2011's Wine Industry Persons of the Year: Owners Marc Goldberg & Maggie D'Ambrosia are dedicated to growing and producing 100% Estate, Burgundian-style Pinot Noir. The vineyard was planted in 1990 and named for the cool Pacific Ocean winds that breeze through the Templeton Gap on the Westside of Paso Robles. Our 15-acre property is an ideal terroir for producing fine Pinot Noir due to our coastal influence, limestone and mineral-rich soil, wind, and cool nights.
Windward Vineyard stays focused on their goal of producing a great American, Burgundian styled Pinot Noir and they have received worldwide recognition for their efforts. We are minimalists, we don’t acidulate, fine or filter, and we age in 100% French oak Barrels.
Windward Vineyard offers a unique experience: a vertical tasting of consecutive vintages of our estate Pinot Noir as well as our new Vin Gris (dry Rosé of Pinot Noir), with optional artisan cheese pairing. Each vintage is a true expression of the vineyard and weather for that year. Enjoy a glass on our patio overlooking our 15-acre estate. Play a game of bocce ball, sip wine by the glass, picnic under our umbrellas and nosh from our Petite Café Menu of artisan cheeses, local salami, truffle chips, and other bites.
