RATTLESNAKE RIDGE 2013

a Cabernet Sauvignon Blend from Diamond Mountain DistrictCA
$125 per bottle

More restrained and complex, this wine is more reminiscent of a first growth Bordeaux than a wine from California. Licorice, clove, and red fruit balance with elegance. Although this wine is drinking great now, it will only improve and I would recommend cellaring for an additional 2-10 years.

OUR FOUNDERS

Walter Teachworth met Joan on a hot summer day in Texas. Joan was a bright-eyed college student. Walter was already established in his career. They traveled with a group of friends to a nearby lake to cool off. And with the best meet-cute story we’ve ever heard (just ask us when you visit), they were together for the rest of their lives.

They fell in love with Napa and moved their young family here in the early 1990s. Over time, they pieced together an estate capable of world-class winemaking. Their vineyards were planted in 1997, and the first Teachworth vintage was crushed in 2000.
