Gopher Hill Pinot Noir 2019
Vineyard Description: Located in West County, 10 miles from the coast as the crow flies, this is the perfect location for Pinot Noir. This vineyard's soil composition is a rich Goldridge Sandy Loam. With consistent fog and extended hang time, this fruit is fully developed and loaded with complexity. This former Gravenstein Apple orchard was replanted in the early 80's by Randy Peters, who only had access to two clones at that time, Pommard and Waldenswil (2A). Winemaker Notes: This block of Peters Vineyard gets its name from the varmints that try to make this block their home. Floral and delicate, showing the feminine side of the varietal, this wine shows beautiful rose petals with a red apple-skin character. The wine continues to open up in the glass, with aromas becoming more complex. The acidity makes it a beautiful food wine.
